It is a two-step system that works by breaking down the hair's natural bonds and reshaping them into a smoother, straighter form. The first step is the Shape Control Reducer, which contains a blend of chemical ingredients, including ammonium thioglycolate and guanidine carbonate, that work together to soften and loosen the hair's natural texture. The second step is the Fixative Neutralizer, which helps to lock the new shape in place by re-forming the hair's bonds and stabilizing the hair structure. Redken Shape Control Reducer Permanent Smoothing & Curling also contains conditioning agents like hydrolyzed wheat protein and hydrolyzed soy protein to help strengthen and protect the hair during the chemical process. Prior to application hair should be washed with a clarifying shampoo to remove any buildup or styling products. Appy product in small sections of the hair, starting from the bottom and working their way up to the top of the head. The solution should be applied evenly and carefully to ensure that all sections of the hair are coated. Comb through hair. Allow for processing time for 10 to 20 minutes.
