Italian made, hand carved, hand painted wood box, sold originally by I. Magnin luxury department store. Missing foil tag. The box is lined in salmon Moire fabric. Gilding along edges of lid and base. Sits on 4 graceful carved feet.
Circa 1940s / 1950s.
I. Magnin was originally established in 1876 and imported clothing by major designers including Jeanne Lanvin, Hattie Carnegie, and Christian Dior. It was eventually bought by Macy's in 1988.
Some minor wear to paint due to age but paint is vibrant and mostly intact.
