This was made by Peterson Co.in the 1960's Polk Brothers .- Original black Fingerboard and black Pegs - 4 Strings - Approximately 51" long- A Polk Brothers promotion from the 1960's where customers received one with the purchase of a refrigerator. " The Polk was made in the Midwest by Petersen Co. around 1960 or so, and sold through the Polk Bros. department stores (hence the name) which was sold around Chicago."- Sometimes called Treholipee - the story goes that these were designed for surfers to take to the beach and when they went surfing they could stick the long horn into the sand and the instrument would stay dry.- Light wear-and-tear from age. Need new strings to play but can also be a beautiful wall piece
